Pros
  • I generally agree with the corporate culture.
  • Little supervision/micromanagement.

Cons

In my department, as a co-op, it was nearly impossible to find someone who had projects that I could help with. My time was wasted, and I didn't really learn anything applicable to engineering.

There was an overabundance of managers/leads. This led to confusing and conflicting information on who was responsible to whom and for what.

IT/office support was incredibly inefficient. It took weeks for me to get a phone, computer, internet access, and software.

Advice to Management

Play a more active role in training new members on the technical staff. Help them to feel more included and relevant.
