When I first joined, the job was very laid back, and we were trusted to do our jobs.

  • Three days in the office with threats of more (was told two days in the office when I took the job).
  • Severe lack of trust is showing (asked to provide proof, sometimes with screenshots).
  • Tech debt is never addressed and doesn't provide direct value to the business.
  • Flight benefits are hard to use in the summer.
  • Constantly pulled in all directions.
  • Work done by contractors, owned by the team.
Advice to Management

It's worth addressing your tech debt so your developers aren't stuck chasing down the same issues day after day. It would also be helpful so the code is easier to maintain.
