The Airline is a large company and sometimes acts like a large company. During the COVID crisis, the corporation cut the headcount in order to stay afloat, regardless of an individual's contribution or years of service to the company.
Promote employees based on the value and contributions they provide to the company, not just to fill a quota that their appearance matches.
