AmEx visited my campus during our internship season and conducted a test following a nominal resume shortlist. This test had three sections:
You were supposed to attempt any one of the last two sections. I attempted the machine learning one.
This test was followed by an interview, for which students were again shortlisted based on the test results. There were two interviews: a Technical and an HR round.
The Technical interview consisted of questions on machine learning/deep learning concepts, and there were some questions about the projects I mentioned on my resume. There was also the usual AmEx business model question.
This was followed by the HR round, which was just an icebreaker for them to get to know more about me.
What techniques did you use to set the hyperparameters for this project?
Explain the business model of American Express and how we earn money.
How would you use your knowledge of data science at American Express? (HR round question)
What features would you use as inputs to a credit card fraud detection model?
