I applied online for a position located in Phoenix, AZ. After about a month, a recruiter called me and scheduled a WebEx interview with the project manager and a senior developer. They asked me how I would collect data from web pages and process it. I had no answer for this question, as they were primarily focused on web application development. They did not test my problem-solving or analytical skills, which was very disappointing. They continued to ask questions regarding web services, even after I mentioned I had only worked on them for one academic project. The project manager was clearly disappointed and stated he was looking for someone with web application development knowledge. The most frustrating aspect of this entire interview process was the recruiter's lack of communication. I contacted her multiple times before the interview requesting more details, but she did not respond.
