QA Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

I applied through employee referral, was selected for initial screening. I applied for QA Engineer position, but the interviewer was unaware of the position that I am being interviewed for and was rejected because I only have 3 years of experience, which is not sufficient to fulfill a senior QA engineer position that requires 5 years of experience (which I did not even apply for). Also, he asked me what is a test plan, and I answered him explaining what a test plan document is, which made him think that all my experience is only working in waterfall methodology (I have worked in agile for 90% of my experience, and there was not even a single question asked about agile).
