Process

They were looking for a developer with 1 to 3 years of experience. I had a phone call from AMEX to give their introduction and to learn about my area of interest. I convinced them that I could be a perfect employee for their requirement. They then arranged for a face-to-face interview. Below is the process for the face-to-face interview:

  1. Small technical test covering C, trees, max heaps, semaphores, bit shifting, and time analysis (finding the order of execution, e.g., O(n)). This also included one programming question. Bit shifting questions included examples like 1 >> -1.

  2. Coding test: Implement the program written in the previous test. An optimal, reusable solution should be implemented (with internet access).

  3. Face-to-face interview, including questions on your coding test, improving your code's reusability, and how it can fit into an object-oriented design.
