I received an email from a recruiter, and their response to set up a chat took a while. I didn't think they were interested anymore.
But then the recruiter got back to me, and we set up an interview with someone in the engineering department. I felt that interview went well. It comprised of a 30-minute behavioral and a 45-minute technical session.
When concluding the interview, the interviewer said they'd send the feedback to HR and that they'd get back to me by the following week. Well, the following week came and went. I reached out to the recruiter more than once and never received a reply.
Like, okay, even if I didn't get the job, you can't send a "sorry, but unfortunately" template email as a reply?
If a candidate takes the time and effort to go through the interview process, the least you could do is not ghost them afterward.
Thankfully, I received an offer at another company with whom I interviewed that same week.
