Pros

Amex company had great values and vision.

Amex supports employees to the core.

The processes are clear, tools and technologies are available, and they promote learning and growth.

Cons

Each team's dynamics depend on the portfolio leadership (VP and directors), hence there is a big inconsistency in team morale and competency, depending on the leaders.

Some leaders keep unskilled labor on their teams. Dedicated team members feel discouraged because many others don't work but get paid.

Advice to Management

Need to have great leaders in all teams/portfolios. Their character and work ethics should be considered when hiring/promoting leaders.
