Decent benefits, slow work pace
Stagnant. They organize around existing and convoluted code bases. This inhibits innovation and leads to people finding busy work. It also leads to many people only knowing very narrow things. Offshore coders can also be very erratic.
Leadership is invisible or non-existent on such important things as moving to a more performant cloud environment.
Poorly managed and very slow cloud architecture.
Don’t organize around existing assets. Rotate engineers among many varied domains. Improve offshore work quality. Provide more and better documentation. Weed out people who do very little (lifers).
Improve salaries. Offer more meaningful career checkpoints. Improve growth opportunities. Improve training on modern topics. Avoid bureaucratic brain freeze where nothing happens on pivotal cloud decisions for many years.
1. Online coding challenge on Codility, consisting of 2 coding questions. 2. Behavioural interview on HireVue. 4/5 questions, approximately 20 minutes. 3. In-person assessment centre invitation, including group work as well as solo sessions.
Through the college placement and internship cell during my 3rd and 4th year, Amex came to my college for recruitment. I participated in the hiring process. I tried but couldn't make it.
Asked two questions. Both were LeetCode easy. The interviewer came late and seemed very disorganized. He kept asking random questions about Java garbage collection, runtime errors, etc., and interrupting while I was answering.
