Engineer • Current Employee
Pros: It used to have great compensation and benefits, and multiple perks prior to explosive growth. You'll work with some of the smartest people from multiple industries.
Cons: The Palantir Mafia at Anduril is extreme, and other orgs are seeing their own silos based on which org was acquired and brought in. Microsoft, AWS, and Palantir - notably very software heavy - run a lot of politics within Anduril, moving the needle from very engineering heavy (Old Anduril) to kingdom building.
Further compounding the negative trend in employment, the Business Operations folks operating under Tom Bosco are destroying the ability to manufacture at scale with home-brewed and vibe-coded applications and pitting department heads against one another. This is impacting the ability to manufacture at scale, and has created a hostile environment where "King Tom" can maintain control. He has failed upwards, and has been absolutely unchecked.
There are a number of other "leaders" that similarly have pushed the Jack Welch school of management protocol of pitting business lines against one another for resource management. That may have worked at some point, but the long-term residual benefit of having mutually supported business lines and a SINGLE variant of Lattice (not the 6-8 that exist now) is absolutely necessary otherwise Anduril will continue to be a model where multiple business lines create reciprocal, non-integrative products.
