Data Engineer Interview Experience - Cupertino, California

Process

The process started when I applied for the position online. I received an email from a recruiter, followed by a call. She demanded to know my current salary, which I wasn't comfortable revealing. Perhaps they could post the salary range on the job description and save everyone time.

Regardless, she scheduled a call with a hiring manager. The call was the typical "tell me about yourself" routine, then moved into some trivial database questions. It turned into a barrage of questions pulled out of thin air. Midway through answering a question (how to do market basket analysis in SQL, something only MySQL has natively), the manager said, "Thanks, take care," and hung up.

This was followed by complete silence from the recruiter and anyone else. So, if you enjoy being treated rudely and having your time wasted, go ahead and apply here. They likely won't care either way.

Questions
