Process

I applied online for this position.

The recruiter emailed me and set up a 45-minute phone interview with a senior engineer from the team. The interview went well, and I was immediately asked to set up another 45-minute phone interview with the manager. The second interview was tougher.

Questions

First phone interview:

  • Basics of Verilog.
  • Explanations for different projects on resume.
  • Given a 2D array containing image data, how would you rotate the matrix to rotate the image by 90 degrees clockwise?
    • Try to use least memory (i.e., rotate and store in the same input matrix).

Second phone interview:

  • Different methods for floating-point multiplication.

Second phone interview:

  • One unit with a 9ns delay versus three units with delays of 2ns, 4ns, and 3ns. Which has better throughput and by how much?
