Hardware Engineer Interview Experience - Cupertino, California

Process

This happened sometime in April 2016. A recruiter contacted me and set up a 1:1 with the hiring manager onsite.

When I visited the site at the scheduled time, the interviewer had no idea about this. He arrived late and just asked basic questions about what I was doing in my current role. That was it!

Literally, that was it!

I was so disappointed.

Then I learned that this is how Apple treats people during interviews all the time. Very bad.

Apple, Good companies are not created by good people, but good people create good companies.

I would not recommend Apple if you are going for a random interview approached by a recruiter.

2018 Experience:

I received a call from a recruiter. The job description was good, and we continued the conversation.

But what is this?

They don't have time to conduct interviews and kept rescheduling them. So, I learned that things were still the same.

But I should not change my behavior. I remained polite and cooperative.

They canceled the onsite interview and set up a Skype call because of a tight schedule.

What is this? How can you have time for a Skype interview but not an in-person one? This is bad.

But I remained calm. I joined the Skype video call.

The interviewer turned off the video from their side, citing low network bandwidth.

Wow, this is new. Apple has low network bandwidth.

I continued with my video on.

The questions were very technical, which I answered well.

During the call, I heard someone talking to him, which is not good.

And again, I didn't hear anything back from the recruiter, though my interview was good.

The conclusion is, they treat people badly and rudely.
