Apple is a great place to work, but salaries don't reflect the success the company has had in recent years
Software Engineer • Current Employee
Cupertino, California, United States
June 17, 2008
Pros: You get to work alongside some of the brightest, most energetic people in the industry in an environment where creativity is encouraged.
Apple really knows how to hire.
You can feel proud of what your company does and the products it creates.
You get the feeling of working for a startup within a large, established company.
Cons: Compensation is well below industry standard. No stock options unless you're management level or greater. Profit sharing is apparently non-existent. Even though the company is doing well, you don't get to take some of that success home with you.
If you're not directly working on a major product, it's very easy to feel unappreciated.
