The product, the people, the prestige, and the stock options. Not necessarily in that order.
Apple is a very rewarding place to work, in both career and financial terms.
In some groups, work-life balance is non-existent. Working weekends for months on end is considered part of the job. The attitude is, if you don't like your job, there are plenty out there who would take it.
However, that isn't quite true because we've been having trouble getting quality interviewees for a while now.
People who are "before iPod" are there because they want to work for Apple.
People who are "after iPod" are often there because they want to work for AAPL.
Burn the Apple people out, and you can never get them back.
Would the company be as successful if it were run by AAPL people?
Team-specific interview process. This team focused on OOP principles. The phone screen involved OOP with a bit of system design. The onsite included another OOP section and a peculiar tree/node question where the task was to serialize and deserializ
Honestly, pretty damn easy, lol. I'm going to try Google next. This was genuinely so simple, I'm amazed a FAANG company would do this. Just practice 300 LeetCode questions and you'll be set!
It was good, tough, and long. 1. Prescreen interview with overall questions to estimate my technology knowledge and experience. It took a 15-minute talk. 2. Test task: write a project. It took 2 hours. 3. Tech interview: 3 sessions, 1 hour each.
