The best reasons to work for Apple are the ability to have exciting work. You can work on exciting technology that changes the industry. Furthermore, many managers at Apple provide ample flexibility in coordinating work and personal life. There have been many instances in which I was able to accommodate a personal task within a work day or work vacation when I wanted, not necessarily when the company wanted. The amount of respect the company gives you is also very rewarding. You're not treated as a replaceable piece, but rather as a valuable asset that they would like to keep around for a long time.
It seems that the pay is low. However, with the perks of personal flexibility, respect, and meaningful work, I'm not sure I would work anywhere else. The level of secrecy at Apple can also be irritating if you're in engineering.
Pay higher salaries. Increase the ability to take jobs within the company easily. Allow more professional growth.
