I was told in group meetings that I was doing a good job, and had the contract renewed. Then suddenly, the contract was terminated a few weeks into my third or so renewal.
Test automation, at least in the QA group I was the sole engineer doing it, may have been in conflict with new manager power. That's my read on it.
