Lots of hours, great pay as a contractor due to all the overtime.
Management doesn't really interact with individual technicians. I worked there for a whole year and saw the manager of my department at least three times a week, and he had no idea who I was or anyone except people that had been there for decades.
Interact with your employees. Show them you care. I get that contractors come and go at Applied, but not every contractor is just there for a paycheck. A lot of contractors come in on weekends on very short notice and work long hours to get through the quarter because they want to be there and earn a spot full time.
Talk to your contractors, get to know them, make them feel like part of the team, not just another number.
The first and final interview happened through phone. I was asked a few questions to see if I was fit for the position. There were no technical questions. The manager was very polite.
Got a call from an Adecco Recruiter to talk about the position. I then talked to an onsite recruiter over the phone. Two days later, I was offered a position.
Applied interviews are tough initially, but once you are in and you want to move around, the other interviews are more of a social than a business trip.
