I applied via the career site, and a recruiter reached out. After a month, an interview was scheduled, with three rounds in total. The first two rounds were coding, and the third was with the hiring manager.
One interviewer became confused, even though I was explaining the same approach. They later confused me as well. The interviewer was adamant about solving the problem in their way only, and because of this, I wasn't able to solve it completely.
I was expecting an offer but was disappointed to be rejected because of one round where I solved only two out of three questions. What was more disappointing was the rejection feedback stating "technical lack."
If they consider someone to lack technical skills by testing coding alone and not testing anything apart from it, I wouldn't have applied for the role.
I suggest people reading this not waste their time applying at such a company.
Would you apply to a company where only coding is considered a technical skill and nothing else?
Will you be happy if you receive a rejection email stating "technical skills" when they haven't tested anything apart from coding?
