The company itself is healthy and continues to be well-positioned in the industry. There is great job stability and fair compensation, and projects are generally fast-paced and challenging. Managers are generally very accommodating of vacation time and understanding of challenges outside of work.
Limited growth opportunity and low investment in professional development. The mechanical engineering managers do not take the review process seriously -- feedback is always late and minimal. The managers put the product before people, and the best people will not stick around.
Take the performance review process seriously and provide meaningful, timely feedback. The annual review process is also outdated and could use a refresh to create more forward-looking and goal-focused feedback.
