Applied online and received a response a week later with a link to solve a simple algorithm problem. They provided a text editor for inputs and noted that the code would not be executed or tested, to imitate "realistic coding"; they just wanted to see the code.
A week later, they responded with a canned rejection letter. I followed standard coding style for the language I chose and ran some tests on my own to validate my solution (all passed). I have no idea why the rejection occurred at such an early stage of filtering for the interview.
