The company has grown so much that a lot of the engineer managers have absolutely no idea how to manage. This is leading to a crazy high churn of the best employees, people burning out, and unrealistic expectations.
Yeah, sure, they give you a day off here and there. But when you have to work those hours anyway to get work done because projects are not accounting for that time off, it doesn't feel like much of a time off.
