Industrial Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

Extremely unprofessional interview.

Received a cold call email from a recruiter. It sounded interesting, so I applied for the roles the recruiter sent me.

Several weird and repetitive phone calls with multiple recruiters, none of which knew what the others were doing.

Finally set up an interview with the team and what I believe was a hiring manager. They showed up late to the appointment and didn't turn on their camera, so I left my camera off.

They asked me two weird questions that weren't related to work or experience, and then proceeded to ask me to turn my camera on. I turned my camera on. The interviewer explained, "This is just a preliminary interview" and then hung up on me.

Heard a few weeks later from the recruiter that they were looking for someone with more than 8 years of experience and if I'd be interested in a lower role, at which point I told the recruiter I had 10 years of experience. Recruiter replies, "Oh, yeah, you do."

Didn't hear anything for another few weeks when I emailed the recruiter asking if there was any word, and was told they didn't want to move forward with the interview process.

Truly unprofessional.
