If you have a good manager with a "leader" mentality, then your work experience is great, very pleasant, and you're motivated to do your job.

Too many layers of managers to get a problem solved: project leader --> Main Delivery Owner (MDO) --> group leader and, at last, department managers.
Role clarity is a BIG issue. Department managers most of the time do not have a clue what ME'rs or engineers are doing, and there are many times conflicting decision-making between group leaders or MDO.
ASML has grown very fast and managed to make it difficult to lead or manage people.
Too many managers have no feel for the real working people that really deliver the necessary quality that ASML deserves.
ASML should keep it simple and remove some layers of management to make projects visible and easy to manage. Put quality managers to lead people. Avoid people with a "BOSS" mentality but get leaders that understand people and their work.
