Pros

Coworkers are enjoyable to be around, and the work is interesting.

Cons

Work-life balance is nonexistent despite constantly talking about it.

Project leadership has no idea what is required to get a project out of the door, regularly making impossible asks and refusing to take no for an answer when pushed back on.

Many projects are understaffed, but upper management has refused to increase headcount in spite of record profits every year.

Line management will gaslight you for struggling in an environment where you are set up to fail, lie to your face to deflect blame, and fail to follow through on any commitment for assistance that you do manage to get.

Advice to Management

Discipline managers who make empty promises of promotions.

Staff your projects appropriately, even if you have to cancel some projects to add those people to more important ones.

Stop lying to your employees, especially in insultingly obvious ways. We're not idiots.
