Pros

Great potential for optimization. Likely unrealizable. See "cons".

Cons

This monopoly doesn't prioritize efficiency, which is why their machine costs $300 instead of $3 million. Inefficiencies come at a cost, passed on to customers. If there were competition, this company wouldn't stand a chance. Sadly, their customers have no alternatives and are stuck with no options.

Processes were insanely and unnecessarily bloated. I couldn't be effective developing software, neither were engineers around me.

Old-timers with their mediocre, archaic ways and knowledge resisted and resented proposed changes.

All this is my personal opinion, and my motivation is to help the company realize their issues.

Advice to Management

Split into separate competing companies, similar to Bell.

Fire yourself before you infect the new company with your ways.
