Pros

Telephone / U-verse concessions.

Working from home is sometimes possible.

The job is very static, so you can become an expert in your area over time.

Cons

Full-time work from home is now a more accepted practice. This is odd for two reasons. First, IT is not tied down to a physical location, and they constantly harp about reducing real estate costs. Second, it's a telecommunications company that hates telecommuters.

Advice to Management

Communicate organizational changes with your employees prior to the day before they're implemented. Engage in dialogue with the people who are running your business for you. Foster more open communication versus canned, impersonal emails.
