Pros

You get to work at a top-tier company on major features.

Cons
  • Ever since ATT took over, the department has suffered.
  • Constant department reorganizations have driven out experienced and knowledgeable staff and management.
  • Drastic change decisions are made overnight and then revoked a few weeks later due to lack of vision and poor execution.
  • Job descriptions change but no formal training is provided.
  • Low morale across teams.
  • Management and mentorship are non-existent. Some people work hard, working on 2-3 projects, while others do nothing without repercussions.
  • There is no room for mobility or growth; it's a dead-end department.
  • There is constant concern about the department being cut and layoffs across most of the software engineering teams.
Advice to Management

This goes higher than just managers; the department as a whole is in shambles.
