You get what you put in. The TDP program has great opportunities to learn and network if you put in the effort, but opportunities won't come to you unless you make an active effort to seek them out.
I'll admit work-life balance here is great! I never worked more than 40 hours a week.
Management is horrible! Processes and people are old and outdated. They outsource many things to contractors overseas on conflicting time zones. After being denied the promotion to TDP engineer II the first time I applied, I felt underappreciated. They continued that by lowballing raises when new hires coming in had higher salaries. Don't get comfortable and stay here if you decide to try it out! You are worth so much more than a below average tech salary.
Get your head out of your assets and let people innovate! Your software is a mess, and you guys don't practice true agile despite always preaching you do.
A brief written test on object-oriented programming and experience. Some written test on hypothetical critical thinking scenarios. The interview lasted about a couple of hours and went relatively smoothly.
The interview process was standard. The first interview was over the phone. The second interview was at the AT&T facility with a local employee and a manager based out of state. Basic technology questions. Nothing too complicated.
I applied online. The process took about a week. I had a phone interview with an HR representative, and then I was brought in for two in-person interviews that lasted about two hours. I was interviewed by different QA Managers from several teams.
