Principal Backend Developer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

May 1, 2021
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process consisted of the following rounds:

  • Phone screening round: This involved questions about my current project, my role within it, and behavioral questions from past companies.
  • Coding round 1: Focused on data structures and algorithms.
  • Coding round 2: A machine coding round.
  • High-level design round: Assessed system design capabilities.
  • Managerial round: Interview with a hiring manager.
  • Core values round: Evaluated alignment with company values.

Several HR representatives and HR Business Partners were involved. They provided differing views and answers regarding the role, suggesting it could be for an SSE, PE, or SDE 2. I was informed that I had cleared the rounds, but there were some gaps identified in the feedback from one of the rounds. They stated they would contact me in the coming weeks regarding an offer.

I do not recommend this company for interviews due to a lack of clarity in both the overall process and the interviewing rounds. The interviewers appeared to lack maturity when answering questions concerning edge cases of the problem statements.
