The interview process consisted of one technical phone interview, followed by an on-site interview with three rounds: one cultural and two technical.
The phone interview included two questions, with the second question being an improvisation on the first. I received a call for the on-site round.
None of the interviewers were strong English speakers and had considerable difficulty communicating.
Cultural Round: The interviewer entered, stated their name, and immediately began asking questions without introducing themselves or their role at the company. One question asked was, "Have you ever screwed or screwed up a customer?" This round felt obnoxious, and I got the impression that Atlassian employees believe they possess the best company culture globally, which, in my experience, is not the case.
JS Round (Interviewer & Shadow): This involved a whiteboard discussion on building JavaScript components.
Algorithm Round (Interviewer & Shadow): The interviewer was a junior engineer, and the shadow was quite distracting.
While I like Atlassian as a company, this was one of my worst interview experiences, and I would not recommend it.
Culture, JS Components (React/Vue), and Algorithms.
