Process
The first round was the Karat interview, conducted by a few overseas Indian interview engineers.
They asked three questions about JS, followed by some coding exercises.
It was a waste of time, to be honest, as the questions were pretty irrelevant to daily tasks and the interviewers seemed disinterested most of the time. I will never go through this pointless Karat interview for any company.
Questions
- One question covered the
prototype.callmethod. - Identify a security vulnerability in the code.
- Some coding exercises gave you an image of a UI and asked you to develop it in CSS, HTML, and JS.

Pros: Atlassian has great teammates, plugins, and internal tools. The way of doing business is so great.
Cons: Since Atlassian is a huge company, the repositories and code bases are also huge. They are hard to digest at a glance.

Pros: • Full-time remote work option all over the world
• Competitive salaries and stock bonus
• Latest tech
• Contributes a lot to charities and good causes
• Paid day offs, very long paternity leave, etc.
Cons: • Very aggressive hiring strategy; it feels like the quality/level of employees is going down, and too many managers are being hired instead of engineers.
• A bit too much "wokeness"?
• Original company values don’t seem to matter as much nowadays.
• Compensation scales are a black box, which goes against original company values.
• Salary is determined by where a person lives.
