Process

There is a saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." It fits Atlassian so perfectly.

  1. Their website and even LinkedIn job postings claim that they support permanent remote work, but a recruiter told me that whenever a manager decides to return to the office for the team, I will have to be there. So, all those rosy words about permanent remote work were fake.

  2. I had three technical rounds. The questions were exactly the same as those published all over the internet. As a candidate, I should be excited about pre-knowing the questions, right? Wrong. It seems they have only a handful of interviewers who not only ask the same questions but also expect the same answers that they know. Any alternate solution was immediately discarded until I arrived at a particular solution, which was welcomed.

  3. The recruiter, from the beginning, was asking me to focus on a set of values published on their site but didn't have the shame or respect to follow even the first value, i.e., "Open company." After a candidate has spent multiple hours preparing and appearing for the interview, I was ghosted. There was no communication or feedback whatsoever on my application after the third round.
