Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India
Process
Disappointed with the process, system, or culture.
The interview took place on a Friday. Generally, all interviewers take notes or write things down during the interview session so that they can fill out the feedback form correctly for each candidate. In this case, I noticed that the interviewer was not taking any notes (as he was using a laptop) and updated the feedback after six days, the following Thursday (according to HR).
I wonder if the feedback was truly for my interview or if it was recalled correctly without notes (sharp memory, I would say). However, the HR representative was good and helpful.

Atlassian Work Experiences
- 1.0Poor Leadership: The Toll on EngineersSenior Software Engineer • Current EmployeeBengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaSeptember 17, 2025Pros: Apart from compensation and the option to work from home, there’s nothing worthwhile here.Cons: Poor leadership without vision. They are swimming in the ocean without any goal. No innovation, toxic work culture. The performance process, called APEX, is applied on engineers only, not on leadership. Engineers are targeted not on performance, but on how much they please their manager or skip-level leader. Most managers are mere puppets, and skip-level leaders spend their time engaging in shameless flattery instead of real leadership. Specifically, the Indian senior leadership is utterly incompetent; they add no value and have no clue what they are doing.

- 5.0Best work-life balance in the industrySenior Software Engineer • Current EmployeeBengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaMay 31, 2023Pros: Good quality work in most teams, along with best working conditions.Cons: Business growth, in terms of the number of customers, new products, etc., is becoming a challenge with more growth. Culture changes are also being implemented, so I'm not sure if working conditions are going to stay the same.
