Software Engineer Interview Experience - India

Process

The interview process is the same and consists of 5 rounds, which can be found anywhere. However, I am here to detail other vital points.

Firstly, the tech recruiters in India are pathetic. They lack even basic empathy towards the candidate's experience. Even companies like Google, Amazon, and Meta consider candidates purely based on their skills. But Atlassian India considers a candidate if they qualify for any one of these:

  • You are from either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 college.
  • You have worked with top product companies.
  • You are popular on social media, either YouTube or LinkedIn.

If you possess any of these three, then you will get a chance to interview with Atlassian India.

I have come to know from a few candidates that even after successfully completing their interview rounds, they never got an offer. But there are candidates who are just publicly popular and got the offer, even though some of their rounds didn't go well.

The recruiters in India are highly irresponsive to any sort of communication. Even if you don't clear a Google interview, the candidate feels nice just because of the way the recruiters treat them.

Atlassian India is definitely in a bad shape and is better to avoid. There are many great companies that would respect your skills and abilities.
