The interview process typically involves a phone interview first, followed by an on-site interview. The recruiters were courteous and punctual.
The technical interview was conducted by an English-speaking Russian. He would interrupt to criticize your syntax and notation, as well as the run-time, while you were in the middle of solving the problem, which was very distracting.

Great Pay, Troubling Metrics

Pros: Remote, had decent WLB at one point, amazing pay relative to most of the industry. Mostly nice culture.
Cons: Work-life balance has gotten worse. Metrics like PR count and lines of code are now being used as data points to evaluate work performance. Management uses this data to help make decisions on who to bump down to scores of 1s and 2s during performance review season, when we're graded on a 1-5 scale. Stack ranking is used, and whenever too many managers give too many high numbers, they go through the process of 'calibration' where they meet up and figure out who to bump up, down, etc.

Pros: Good pay, work-life balance, and decent benefits.
Cons: This new performance assessment system is complete trash. Your main focus for each quarter is how you can make your performance review look good. They put a very large emphasis on metrics like PR count and encourage you to be in the 75th percentile. The only issue is this data is public, and the number is always shifting, so you will always have to do more in order to be above others trying to do the exact same thing. You get chopped if you don't. I've seen this turn people against each other to boost their own numbers.
