People-first Culture, Loving Wfh
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Perth, Western Australia, Australia
October 30, 2022
Pros: They live their values – look them up, they're great. Emoji/gif culture is amazing. Everyone is super generous with their time to new starters. Very people-first culture. Really open about everything.
Cons: Haven't found many yet! I'm sure it can't be perfect, but so far it's almost been.
Working from home is definitely not for everyone, but I'm loving it.

YMMV has made a complete U-turn after the new CTO
Software Engineer • Current Employee
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
December 5, 2023
Pros: Good benefits (but they are now cutting down many benefits and packages).
Cons: Toxic positivity, a massive amount of silos, constant change, difficulty in understanding the company’s direction, different regions playing their own game, and I noticed the level of transparency has been declining.
Unclear paths for career growth, even with extensive documentation about job roles, make it a tricky process.

Good, but no longer great
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
June 27, 2024
Pros: Great compensation and benefits for Australia.
Flexible and remote working.
Fair amount of autonomy in what you work on and how.
Cons: The company is moving further and further away from its values, primarily because of new hires in senior management.
Work-life balance can be difficult to maintain due to the need to collaborate with teams and customers in other time zones.
There is compensation inequality between different states, despite doing the same work as colleagues.
