Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience

Process

The turnaround time for me took quite a while. I completed the HackerRank in early September and received an invite for a recruiter call in late October. After that, the process was a lot smoother:

Technical phone interview: November 13th Final round interview: December 2nd Offer: December 10th

I don’t remember the HackerRank or technical phone questions at this point, but they were definitely very doable compared to other big tech companies. Maybe LeetCode easy-medium.

The final round interview comprised two parts:

  1. Deep Dive into a Previous Project: You brought a previous technical project you’ve worked on and did a deep dive into it with the interviewer, explaining your work and the design decisions you made.
  2. Behavioral Interview: A standard behavioral interview with a manager. Make sure you’re familiar with the Atlassian values and that your answers exemplify them.
