The first and second rounds of the interview process featured medium to challenging coding questions. The third round involved designing a tag service system. The fourth round focused on managerial aspects, while the fifth round assessed values.
The interviewers were cooperative and professional throughout the process. However, the recruiter's behavior was quite different. The recruiter initially agreed to a higher total compensation (TC) before the interview loop began, but later reversed this decision. After I successfully completed the interview, the recruiter denied having any prior conversations related to CTC. They attempted to blame me for the situation and stated that there was nothing they could do to resolve it. The recruiter's efforts to persuade me to accept a reduced compensation package for joining Atlassian were ineffective. Overall, I believe that a review of Glassdoor reviews reveals a pattern of deceptive behavior by Atlassian recruiters toward software engineers.
To provide a more concise explanation of the Atlassian recruitment process: Candidates are evaluated based on their performance in the interview process, which is a fair and rigorous procedure. The recruiter assesses the candidate's level of desperation and leverages this information to their advantage in negotiating the terms of employment. Any promises made by the recruiter during the initial stages of the process may not be reflected in the final offer.
