There are still some talented people you'll be working with. You'll constantly learn a lot from them. ICs are still great to work with, as long as the work and reviews allow for it.
Bi-annual performance reviews lack nuance. You can be rated the highest in one review and be on a PIP the next.
Performance reviews incentivize individual contributions at the expense of the team, leading to teams that would otherwise work well together fighting over credit. Less flashy but critical work is all but abandoned, leading to an ever-spiraling amount of code debt and firefighting.
