Good perks. I still think work/life balance is good compared to many companies. Salary is not bad, and RSUs are also good.
Culture is not what I expected. Teams can be all different from each other, and you might not be the lucky person to get to the nicest team. Career progression also varies across teams, which can be frustrating if you are not working with the right manager.
What do I expect from managers? Help unblock engineers to do their job productively and help them progress on their careers. I don't believe it's just up to the person to progress; by the end of the day, the manager will approve or not an engineer's promotion, and different managers have different expectations from people. There are guidelines for promotion, but they aren't always followed. I hope this really starts changing soon.
