If the projects you are given aren't impactful, your performance review will be affected. They are stack ranking you now, so you're competing against your peers in performance, which now disincentivizes you from helping your colleagues. Pay is on the lower end in big tech despite having Amazon/Meta/Microsoft-level culture now.
