I worked from home, so take my review with a grain of salt. The pay is good, the benefits are fantastic, and working from home really is a game changer. Most of my coworkers were friendly as well, at least as friendly as you can be over Skype.
A lot of the self-improvement initiatives that Autodesk offers are really only available in person. So, unless you live near one of their major offices, mainly their West Coast office in the US, you won't have access to those opportunities.
The inter-department communication could be better, as I saw a fair bit of inefficiencies arise from a lack of shared goals between teams, and thus dependencies across teams resulted in bottlenecks.
Just make sure teams that are dependent on each other have their goals more aligned, so helping another team doesn't feel like you're hamstringing your own team.
The interview was conducted the whole afternoon with several senior software engineers joining the interview. The manager also shared his ideas and asked some behavioral questions. The whole interview was smooth.
I was called by someone from HQ – from London, I guess. Then I had a full day interview, an online test, then we had a lunch break, and then the main interview.
I had a phone interview where they asked me a bit about my background and experience. They then sent me a take-home test. After that, I had a second phone interview where we went over my test and they asked me a few coding questions. Nothing too diff
