Process

The overall process from applying to rejection took about 5 weeks.

I applied online on 9/20. A week later I heard back from a recruiter asking me to fill out a form. A week goes by and I'm told we're good to set up an interview on Slack. I set it up for 10/8.

The interview was actually kind of fun -- they asked some good questions and answered all of mine. We wound up going a bit over the scheduled amount of time, but they didn't seem to mind.

The interview concluded with them saying they'd get back to me. They did later that day and gave me a code challenge to fix a plugin that's only supposed to be 6 hours and done with in a week. I do the test within the desired amount of time and submit it a week later.

A week after that the person who reviews the submission was introduced. A day later they've reviewed my submission and have asked me additional questions on GitHub which I answered. Less than a week later I'm told I was just shy of the mark with how I implemented the plugin fixes. The interviewer provided a ton of useful feedback. I was very close, but close isn't on the mark ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Overall it was fun and everyone involved in the process was kind and helpful. 10/10 would apply again.
