Pros: There are lots of educational resources and opportunities. The compensation is decent. You can take advantage of some of their banking benefits.

Cons: Absolutely no work-life balance. Everything is by the book, with incredibly slow practices and lots of legacy systems. The technology culture is poor. As a woman developer, their women-in-technology program needs a lot of improvement. The mentorship program is weak. It takes ages to get promoted. Upper management expects you to live, breathe, and sleep your work, with barely any regard for your personal issues. The insurance benefits are a joke. There's no cohesion to a lot of their policies. If you work on the investment side, all your own investments are tracked by the bank and have to be approved by your direct manager.

Pros: Bank of America is a very large company. It provides a lot of scope to move horizontally within the bank. The IB division is very vibrant and hectic. There are several opportunities as the bank moves to use new platforms. Good work-life balance. You can have several opportunities to grow within the bank. Based on your manager's discretion, you have flexibility to work from different work locations.

Cons: Very hectic. Benefits are pretty poor, especially medical benefits. At times, dysfunctional management changes strategies so very often.

Pros: There's not much to say.

Cons: typical bank IT group--a lot of people who don't care about learning to program well, because their managers don't care.
