I applied for this position online and after about two weeks, I was selected for the initial phone screen with a software engineer. I was asked the typical behavioral questions and some basic textbook Java and SQL questions.

Soon after, I was invited for an onsite at their New York location with only one business day to confirm and schedule the flight. There was no negotiation about the date whatsoever. However, due to midterms that I couldn't reschedule, I asked the recruiter to reschedule. She told me she would reach out to me with "virtual interviewing options" after the onsites had ended but with no details about any specific times. A week after the onsites had ended, I never received any follow-up email, so I sent a follow-up email and once more two weeks later. Again, no reply. At this point, it's obvious that they must have filled all of the spots during the onsite, which is completely understandable, but it would've been nice to have been notified of that.

Two months later, I received an automated email from BOA saying that "they are sorry" that I had withdrawn my application. However, I had never done so, which prompts me to believe that my recruiter had just removed my application without ever telling me.

This was by far one of the worst interviewing experiences I've ever gone through. The recruiter was extremely unprofessional and never even bothered to follow up with me on my application status. For anyone who can't make it to their onsite interview, beware.
