A good, but uninspiring, place to work

Pros

The work is somewhat challenging, but largely uninspiring. Little is truly cutting-edge, though there are some pockets of innovation to be found.

The work/life balance is generally great. Working from home is a common practice. Some jobs require that you work from home and provide you the equipment and reimbursements to set up a home office.

  • 12 weeks of maternity and paternity leave.
Cons

It's uninspiring not only because of a lack of innovation but also because of an opaque promotion process. Taking on additional responsibility is easy, but it's difficult to get formally recognized for it.

Advice to Management
  • Provide some transparency into career growth and promotion process.
  • Your IT group (ET&D, nee NCG) needs to be broken up and aligned with the business.
