Pros

In general, the people you will work with are intelligent and hardworking. The pay rate, barring any cut or furlough, is good. The technology is advanced, but not cutting-edge. The equipment and infrastructure is workable.

Cons

The work environment is isolating and depressing. Process is king, and all creativity, even within constraints, is discouraged. Meetings are anathema. Why meet with real people face to face when you can call them and use Webex? Human interaction is kept to an absolute minimum.

Advice to Management

You are AGILE-(ing) yourselves to death. Remember the reason you hire a technical resource is for their expertise and skill. Don't marginalize and minimize their ability by over-structuring their individual tasks.
