Pros
  • Formal Work From Home program for technology associates.
  • Lots of education and training opportunities from the training portal.
  • Limited travel required for most jobs; teams are highly virtual across the world.
  • Adding a 401(k) Roth option for 2013.
Cons

Decreasing associate benefits:

  • Freeze / hold on pay increases
  • Decreasing bonuses
  • Pension plan retired
  • Changing health plan with higher associate up-front expenses
  • Limited associate banking and loans programs, with benefits that are not very significant
  • No Stock Ownership Plan
Advice to Management

Be the best place to work by providing important benefits to associates rather than continuing to remove, freeze, or eliminate them. Career opportunities for advancement are not appealing if salary or bonus increases are not available to support expanded responsibilities. The pension plan being retired no longer has "golden handcuffs" for long-tenured associates. Expect a higher attrition rate as the economy strengthens.
